A Spirited Conversation with City Winery: 2015 Reserve Pinot Noir

City Winery Nashville’s 2015 Reserve Pinot Noir from Hyland Vineyard in Willamette Valley, Oregon, exemplifies the elegance that has become synonymous with Willamette Valley. Aromas of strawberries and cassis mingle with the floral notes of lavender and violet, which come together harmoniously with focused tannin structure and gentle finish. Enjoy now or allow to age up to five years as it continues to evolve in bottle.

Our 2015 Reserve Pinot Noir is one of my favorite house-made wines here at City Winery. Pinot is one of the most pairable reds. It’s season-friendly and has more complexity when it comes to fruit balance, earthiness and herbaceous qualities. I love the slight hint of dry roses and I especially adore its Oregon origin. Oregon runs along the same latitude line as Burgundy, so wines from these regions are going to be similar in climate style and body.

Pairing well with duck, lamb, pork, vegetables, light fishes and cheese, I would happily sip a glass of our 2015 Reserve Pinot Noir with a perfectly cooked pork tenderloin. Want to try for yourself? This specific wine is not only made in Nashville at City Winery, but it’s also available on tap, in the bottle and available to take home in one of our growlers.
