Nashville Shakespeare Festival: Romeo and Juliet @ Belmont University's Troutt Theater
Jan 4 @ 7:30 pm – Jan 29 @ 7:30 pm

Fall in love with the story you know so well, all over again! Directed by Santiago Sosa, Nashville Shakespeare Festival’s production will transport you to a unique, imagined world that fuses Verona of the 1590s with the American pop culture of the 1990s, complete with a 1990s-inspired score played live on Renaissance instruments. Rediscover Shakespeare’s story of a city torn apart by hate, where young love may be the only hope for peace.

Millersville Bluegrass Jam @ Millersville Community Center
Jan 20 @ 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm

The Millersville Bluegrass Jam is an evening of traditional bluegrass and folk music.  The event is free to the public and held on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month.

For nearly twelve years, the Millersville Bluegrass Jam has entertained fans with performers ranging from up and coming new bands to the incredible Roni Stoneman of Hee Haw and Grand Ole Opry fame.  Acclaimed by bluegrass fans throughout the region, the Jam offers quality family entertainment for all.  In its continuing effort to preserve the cultural history of bluegrass music, the Jam was nominated for the 2003 “Folk Life Heritage Award,” a Governor’s Award in the Arts.

Refreshments are available for purchase. Come ready for dancing, but no worries, there are benches and cover grassy area in the back for those who want to kick back and enjoy the music!

There is plenty of parking and kids are welcome!

Don’t forget to bring your own instruments if you want to jam! Jammers and pickers are indeed welcomed. At any given time, there should be enough jammin’ circles where everyone feels a comfort level in joining. No one should feel over- or under- whelmed! We’re just glad to have you!
