You’ll be charmed by this tale about a lovable bull who would rather sit and smell the flowers than fight in Madrid’s bullfights. Based on “The Story of Ferdinand” by Munro Leaf, this family ballet humorously teaches us how to embrace what makes us different. Featuring vibrant sets and costumes inspired by the cubist paintings of Pablo Picasso, narration and an interactive activity, “Ferdinand the Bull” will leave audiences of all ages delighted. This event will take place on Sunday, May 14, Saturday, May 20 and Sunday, May 21 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. each day.
Children ages 7 (must be born in 2009) to 11 years old are invited to audition to perform in “Nashville’s Nutcracker: Celebrating 10 Years!” this December. This is the only opportunity the general public will have to perform on stage with Nashville Ballet and the Nashville Symphony this season. Open auditions will be held Sundays from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on August 20, August 27 and September 10 at Nashville Ballet. Interested attendees only need to attend one audition. No dance experience is required; performance training will be provided.
Tours begin at 4:00 p.m. with the last tour scheduled to step off at 8:00 p.m., however we will go past 8:00 if necessary. Tickets are $10 for adults and children ages 10 and up. Children under 10 are free. Tickets are available online through our Facebook page. They are also available at the Sumner County Museum, the Gallatin Chamber of Commerce, and Perkins Drugs starting September 8th.
A rain out date is set for Saturday, October 14th. Times for the rain date to be determined.
The purpose of the Sumner County Museum is to preserve for the future the history of the past and present. There are loads and loads of items on display for those of you who are interested in museums and/or history or both. The displays include pioneer days, tinsmith shop, blacksmith shop, textile – from cotton to loom, music, photography, clothing, etc. It is worth a trip to see what’s here. Be sure to have a time period put aside when you want to come and make sure it’s long enough to see everything that you can.
Did she or didn’t she? Viewers will judge for themselves when Lizzie Borden’s real-life double homicide case of 1892 hauntingly unfolds on stage this Halloween. Acquitted for the brutal ax murders of her father and stepmother, Lizzie Borden’s notorious courtroom trial remains one of the most controversial and sensationalized in American history. Nashville Ballet’s gripping interpretation takes audiences into the mind of the woman embroiled in the scandal to show that there may be more to the story than previously thought. “Lizzie Borden” will be complemented by the world premiere of “The Raven” inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s famous poem.
Join us for this year’s concert performances featuring Hunter Hayes, Brett Young, Lindsey Ell, John Berry, and more to be announced soon!
Christmas 4 Kids
Christmas 4 Kids is a not-for-profit organization that has been in existence for over 25 years providing many children, each year, with their very own shopping spree. The funds generated by the concert, and the Tour Bus Show/Artist Meet and Greet event, are used to give over 400 children from 29 different schools, a day-long shopping excursion. The special day consists of a chauffeured trip from their school aboard an entertainer’s luxury tour bus, dinner, and a party hosted by Santa and Mrs. Claus. To wrap up the day, the tour buses journey to the Hendersonville, Tennessee, Walmart, where the kids receive a brand new winter coat, and $150.00 to spend however they choose.
Sponsorship packages are available! Please contact Linda: linda@christmas4kids.org, 615.347.8659 or Corey: coreyd@coreyduke.com, 615.453.9115 Christmas4Kids.org

That is where YOU & Christmas 4 Kids comes in. We are the children’s hope. We can show them that SOMEONE does care!
