Christmas Boat Parade @ Mallard Point Park

The Sumner County “Deck the Hulls” Christmas Boat Parade is a family fun, holiday spectacular for all ages and attracts thousands of spectators to enjoy the boats showcased at Old Hickory Lake.

Proceeds benefit Mary’s Magical Place.

Gallatin 2016 Christmas Parade

Gallatin Christmas Parade, presented by the Gallatin Chamber of Commerce
Saturday, December 10th, 2016 at noon, Rain or Shine

The parade can be watched anywhere along the parade route. If you want to get an up close and personal view, watch from the Gallatin Public Square. Starting at 10:45am, Gallatin’s own, Danny McCorkle will be performing holiday music from the balcony of the Gallatin Public Library. As the parade begins, H.D. Wheeler, with ServPro and Cathy Martindale, host of “Tennessee’s Wildside” and “Racing County”, will be our Master of Ceremonies. You will get a play by play of the parade as it passes by.

Lineup Location:  Steam Plant Road –  Participants must enter from Airport Road!
Line up for floats:  No later than 10:30 AM
Walker/Performer Line up (without a float)11:00 AM
All Others:  No Later then 11:30 AM
Entries MUST BE at least 50% decorated
No Performance Stops Allowed.
Parade Route: Steam Plant Road to Hartsville Pike, down Main Street, Down Broadway and ends at the Gallatin High School

Applications will be available in September 2016.

This seasonal celebration finds the girls entertaining at the annual Harper’s Hardware Holiday Party. When Santa turns up missing, the girls use their talent and creative ingenuity to save the holiday party! Featuring great ’60s versions of holiday classics such as “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Run, Rudolph, Run,” and “Winter Wonderland,” the result is, of course, marvelous! This energetic and glittering holiday package is guaranteed to delight audiences of all!

Trot for Tots 5K @ White House Municipal Park

This will be the 6th Trot for Tots 5K.  We are collecting donated toys and giving them the local Toys for Tots program for Sumner/Robertson County.  There are no fees collected, (unless you want a limited race day shirt).  The only “fee” collected is a new unwrapped toy. T-shirts are available for $15. However, if you want a shirt please send shirt size and $15.00 to:

Event details and schedule

Registration starts at 7:00 AM with the 5K starting at 8:00 AM.  The course starts at the City of White House Park and is an out and back 5K.  Parking is free and ample.  Dress accordingly, we’ve had sunny weather, cold weather and wet weather!  And yes, we will be there regardless of the weather!

Wreaths Across America

eventphotofull_wreaths_logoWreaths Across America is a nonprofit event held each year with a goal to place a live wreath on the grave of every American veteran who died serving our country.  A local remembrance ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 17th at 11 a.m.  Open to the public.  City is now accepting donations and greatly appreciated.  For more information please contact the Mayor’s Office at 615-451-5961.

German Advent Service @ St. Timothy Lutheran Church

On the fourth Sunday in Advent, there will be an Advent Service conducted in German at St. Timothy Lutheran Church. German Advent and Christmas carols will be performed and accompanied by pipe organ, piano, accordion, bell choir, and adult choir. The Advent celebration will begin at 4pm.  After the service, you are invited to join us in the Fellowship Hall for coffee and German Christmas baked goods.
