Sumner Masters opening – The Photography of William Lee Golden and The Art of Joel Knapp @ Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center

Sumner County is home to some of the world’s most recognized names in music and art. Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center is proud to highlight two of these artists and their works in the upcoming show: SUMNER MASTERS. The Photography of William Lee Golden and The Art of Joel Knapp. Meet the artists during the opening of this exhibit June 22 4-7pm
This exhibit is FREE to the public and will be on display through September 23rd.

National Dance Day @ Nashville Ballet

Nashville Ballet will celebrate National Dance Day for the eighth consecutive year on Saturday, July 28 by offering free sample classes and choreography provided by the Dizzy Feet Foundation.

The day will feature a sample of Nashville Ballet’s regularly programmed Community Division Adult Classes (ages 18+) and a special youth musical theater class. All ages are encouraged to participate on July 28 in honor of this annual nationwide celebration of dance.

National Dance Day schedule:
10 a.m. – 11 a.m. DANCEFIX (high-energy, adult dance workout class) or Adult Introduction to Ballet
11 a.m. – noon Adult Contemporary or Youth Musical Theater
Noon – 1 p.m. Dizzy Feet Foundation choreography

2018 Meet the United @ Moss Wright Park

Tennessee United Soccer Club is excited to ring in the 2018/2019 year at the 2nd Annual Meet the United on August 11th! The festivities at Moss Wright Park Soccer Fields in Goodlettsville, Tennessee begin at 3:30 pm. This year’s event will feature inflatable games, food trucks, dunk tank, and more. The main attraction kicks off at 5:30 pm with a friendly soccer match between Cumberland University Men’s Soccer Team and the TUSC 2001 Boys Red Team. Appalachian Christmas Dinner @ Garrott’s StoneWall House

During An Appalachian Christmas Dinner guests will feast on an authentic Appalachian dinner complete with moonshine, wine, and stack cake. Storytelling will be provided by Virginia Appalachian Mountain Native, Linda Goodman with music by Holly Wood & The Appalachian Extras – Susie Monick, Joe Collins, Daniel Seymour, and Jeff Gilkinson.

Guests will feast on an authentic Appalachian dinner complete with moonshine, wine, and stack cake. Storytelling and music!

Three nights to choose from: December 9th, 10th, and 11th. Space is limited.

VFW Post 9851 Auxiliary Chili and Soup Luncheon @ VFW Post 9851

It’s almost time for the Chili and Soup Luncheon at VFW Post 9851. The Luncheon is hosted by the Auxiliary at the Post. Mayor Jamie Clary, Fire Chief Scotty Bush, and Assessor John Isbell have agreed to be the judges for the chili contest. So come on out and root for your favorite chili cook. Alderman Pat Campbell will be entering his award winning chili. The Post’s Senior Vice Commander will be entering his award winning chili. The competition is on!!! Cash awards for the winners!!!!
