Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
Relay is a team fundraising event where team members take turns walking around a track or designated path. Each event is 6-24 hours in length and each team is asked to have a member on the track at all times to signify that cancer never sleeps. Cancer patients don’t stop because they’re tired, and for one night, neither do we.
Each team sets up a themed campsite at the event and continues their fundraising efforts by collecting donations for food, goods, games, and activities. This money will count towards their overall team fundraising goal.
If you aren’t familiar with the event, the Taste of Hendersonville is loaded with local eatery booths allowing attendees the chance to sample the many flavors Hendersonville restaurants, grocers and caterers have to offer. Attendees may purchase a punch card to take part in the tasting. Each year, entrants in the Taste vie for the top awards including Best Local Restaurant, Best National Restaurant, Best of Taste and the highly coveted People’s Choice. Beer and wine will be available at an additional fee. We also invite many non-profits and businesses to set up booths to give a true “taste” of everything Hendersonville has to offer.
Tickets will be available soon!

The Sumner County Tourism Center is hosting the 6th Annual Home Tour of Sumner County on Saturday, September 30, 2017, from noon to 5pm. Some of Sumner County’s most beautiful homes located in Gallatin will be open to the public for viewing. The event benefits the Women’s Council of Realtors, Habitat for Humanity, and Mary’s Magical Place.
Main Street Festival is an annual event in downtown Gallatin. Though it is the older of our two events, it has grown in size to over 200 vendors and in excess of 25,000 visitors! The Main Street Festival is a rain or shine event. Gallatin’s Annual Main Street Festival on October 7, 2017 is in it’s 34th year and has become a destination the first Saturday in October for not only the community but for our vendors.
We are the host for over 200 arts, crafts, non-profit and a few commercial vendors, have local entertainment performing throughout the day on our two stages, have a large children’s area and a food and eating area for the community to purchase something to eat and sit and enjoy the event.
Tours begin at 4:00 p.m. with the last tour scheduled to step off at 8:00 p.m., however we will go past 8:00 if necessary. Tickets are $10 for adults and children ages 10 and up. Children under 10 are free. Tickets are available online through our Facebook page. They are also available at the Sumner County Museum, the Gallatin Chamber of Commerce, and Perkins Drugs starting September 8th.
A rain out date is set for Saturday, October 14th. Times for the rain date to be determined.
The purpose of the Sumner County Museum is to preserve for the future the history of the past and present. There are loads and loads of items on display for those of you who are interested in museums and/or history or both. The displays include pioneer days, tinsmith shop, blacksmith shop, textile – from cotton to loom, music, photography, clothing, etc. It is worth a trip to see what’s here. Be sure to have a time period put aside when you want to come and make sure it’s long enough to see everything that you can.
Please join us for our 6th Annual Fall Dessert Fest. All proceeds raised will go to Homer Bradley’s Fall Ride for Food which benefits the Sumner County Food Bank. This is a fun event and a great way to support a worthy cause. I would love your participation! We are in need of silent auction items if you are interested in donating something. Please just let me know and we can work out the details. We need all auction items by Monday, October 9, please.
