This month’s luncheon is sponsored by TNHomeSites and we are pleased to announce Colin Barrett, President of the Tennessee Banker’s Association. Colin Barrett has named president of the Tennessee Bankers Association (TBA) on November 1, 2013. The TBA, founded in 1890, is a not-for-profit trade organization representing Tennessee’s commercial banks and thrift institutions. He previously was executive vice president, responsible for government relations in both Nashville and Washington, oversight of TBA’s education and communication efforts, as well as member relations with the 217 banks with operations in Tennessee.
Barrett joined the Tennessee Bankers Association staff in 2005 as membership services director, working with member banks, TBA endorsed products, the Young Bankers Division, and the government relations efforts. He came to TBA from the American Bankers Association where he served two stints between 2001 and 2005 as regional membership manager. During 2003, Colin took a leave from the ABA to serve as regional development manager for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, based in Washington. In this position, he coordinated and managed a nationwide fund-raising program with US Senators, picking up valuable government relations experience that has served him well at the TBA. He began his career with the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, working a year as endowment director and development associate before joining the ABA in Washington. Colin earned his MA degree in political management from George Washington University in Washington, DC, and a BS degree in marketing from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He and his wife Rachel live in Nashville with their son William.
United Way of Sumner County is pulling out all the stops to produce a spectacular night of fun and fundraising at the Boots & Bling gala and auction, presented by TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center and Dollar General, on Saturday night, March 5, in Gallatin.
In addition to unveiling a new venue and theme for its signature fundraising event, Boots & Bling will feature dinner, live music, boot-scootin’ on the dance floor, and an amazing array of silent auction items, all to benefit the programs of United Way of Sumner County.
Boots & Bling will take place at the Bagsby Ranch on Long Hollow Pike, a modern event venue with rustic, elegant charm that combines luxury and classic style in a barn and a country setting. The night begins with cocktails at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m., and continues until 11 p.m. with the chance to kick up your heels on the dance floor while checking to see if your bids still lead the herd for your favorite auction items. Admission is $75 each, and you can register online today by CLICKING HERE!
In addition to attending Boots & Bling, there are numerous ways to get involved and make a difference for others, from being an event sponsor to donating unique items and experiences for our silent auction. To learn more about how you can get involved, contact UWSC President & CEO Dana M. Given at (615) 461-8371. Watch this space and our page on Facebook for additional event details as they are announced.
