Auditions for Charlotte’s Web @ HPAC
Nov 7 @ 6:30 pm – Nov 8 @ 8:30 pm

The Hendersonville Performing Arts Company announces auditions for Charlotte’s Web, adapted by Joseph Robinette and based on the book by E.B. White. HPAC’s presentation of Charlotte’s Web will be visually different from traditional shows, and we are looking for all ages and types to come audition. Also, if you have ever been a featured dancer but think there is no part for you in this show, think again! Headshots and resumes are welcome but not necessary. Be prepared for a cold read from the script and bring a willingness to try new ideas. Dancers and acrobats please prepare a short routine (1 minute or less). Auditions will be held November 7th and 8th at 6:30 p.m. at the theater, located in the City Square Shopping Center, 260 West Main Street, Suite 204 in Hendersonville. We are looking for 5 to 10 males and 7 to 12 females. Show dates will be January 27th through February 12th, 2017. For more information, visit our website at www.hpactn.com or call (615) 826-6037.

Christmas Tree Elegance and Auction @ Monthaven Mansion Lawn

Christmas Trees of Excellence is an elegant event where five 7 foot trees, donated by Vickerman Company, are decorated by local and nationally known designers including, Robin Meyer of Robin’s Nest Interior, theme is “Santa’S Workshop,” Lynn Baker of Arizonia who is a Designer and Artist, “A South West Christmas,” Celeste Davidson of GoGo Gormet, theme is “Marci Gras Christmas”, Brenda Sevigny, Designer for Rainbow School, theme is “Over The Rainbow” and Dillard’s In house designer theme “Christmas USA.”

Trees are embellished with gifts with all the decorations donated by the designers. Finished trees are then sold during a Silent Auction and Reception.

During the evening event enjoy a historic walk, light catering, art, music and door prizes by local businesses, including: Go Go Gormet, Center Point Wines and Liquors, and on piano, music by Debbie Watts.

Designers may arrive to decorate Nov. 10th beginning at 10:00 a.m. and must be completed by 3:00 p.m. Trees will be judge by dignitaries on Friday, Nov. 11th at 3:30 p.m. followed by a silent auction and reception at Historic Monthaven from 6-9 p.m.

The Hendersonville Arts Council chartered in 1975, is a non-profit, community arts service promoting the cultural development of Hendersonville and the surrounding middle Tennessee area. Working to expand cultural interest, diversity and opportunity in our home place, we preserve our heritage, build cultural resources and integrate the arts in our daily lives .If you are new to our community or a long-time resident, call on us as a resource to find the cultural and arts programs you are looking for. Gallatin Tinsel & Treasures @ Various Participating Shops in Gallatin

The Gallatin Christmas Open House, now known as Holiday Tinsel & Treasures, has been a tradition for over 40 years. Local retail merchants open their doors the 2nd weekend in November every year to shoppers allowing them the chance to start their Christmas shopping early. It is a great opportunity for Gallatin retail businesses to get a jump start on sales before Black Friday or Shop Local Saturday. This tradition continues this year on Saturday, November 14th & Sunday, November 15th!

Veterans Day Parade @ Gallatin

On Saturday November 12th at 11 a.m., head to Calvin Short Football Field to see the annual Veterans Day Parade begin. The parade will end at Gallatin High School. Honor military veterans that have served or that are serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Jingle Mingle @ White House Civic Center

Join us as we kick off the holiday shopping season at Jingle Mingle. There will great merchants offering their finest from jewelry, clothing and home decor. Attendees will be pampered with massages, facials, makeovers and more. Appalachian Christmas Dinner @ Historic Rock Castle

TWO NIGHTS of An “Appalachian Christmas” dinner at the historic Rock Castle hosted by HolidayFest and benefits Rock Castle Foundation on Monday, November 14 and Tuesday, November 15th. Famous Story Teller W,LEWIS BOLTON and Bluegrass Music with Susie Monick and friends.

Only 40 people per event. Tickets are $40 each. Guests will feast on a traditional Appalachian dinner complete with moonshine, wine and stack cake. An acclaimed storyteller will be telling tales and music will be provided by Bluegrass musicians.

Sumner County Museum Association Membership Dinner @ Epic Event Center

This year’s annual Membership Dinner will be held at EPIC Event Centre in Gallatin. Chef Christopher has a delicious menu planned for this event! Our guest speaker will Dr. Derek Frisby, professor at Middle Tennessee State University. This year’s topic will be on the remains of US soldiers killed in the Mexican-American War returning home after 170 years. The cost is $40 per person. This event is for current members and those interested in becoming members of the Museum Association.
