Cheekwood in Bloom @ Cheekwood

There’s no place more beautiful than Cheekwood in the spring as more than 100,000 tulips erupt from our gardens creating a color experience you won’t forget. Snowdrops, crocus, hyacinths, daffodils, magnolias, redbuds, and dogwoods are also in on the act, putting on an unforgettable show as warmer weather and longer days arrive in Nashville. With six weekends of family activities, entertainment and plenty of natural inspiration, we can’t think of a better way to celebrate the change of seasons. Entry is free with membership or Cheekwood general admission.

Guided Spring Hike @ Bledsoe Creek State Park

Join the staff at Bledsoe Creek State Park for their annual Spring Hike. The guided hike will begin at 2:00 p.m. and will start at the park visitor center. We will hike the High Ridge and Shoreline trail. Trail length is 3.5 miles and is of moderate difficulty. Adults, children, and pets are welcome. #SpringHikeTN

Tennessee State Parks’ Spring Hike is a great opportunity to shed the winter blahs, make new friends, and explore Tennessee State Parks natural side. Whether you are looking for a short nature trail or an adventurous, all-day endeavor through a park’s most remote stretches, you’ll find what you’re looking for at a Tennessee State Park. All hikes will be guided by park staff who can speak to the natural, cultural and historical treasures that Tennessee State Parks has to offer. GooDOG Festival & Easter Egg Hunt @ Moss-Wright Park

DocumentThe Goodlettsville Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce a brand new event this spring for all of our dog loving families!

“GooDOG Festival & Easter Egg Hunt” will be held on Saturday March 25th at Moss-Wright’s, Fenway Dog Park. This free event for all vaccinated and leashed dogs will kick off at 10am with a treat filled Easter Egg Hunt. Followed by a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny, a variety of local vendors, educational presentations, and more! Be sure to have your K-9 looking their Easter Best!king their Easter Best!

Botanical Watercolors at Cheekwood @ Cheekwood

Explore the historic techniques used by artists who portrayed, in accurate detail, the flora and fauna of our world. Learn to capture the intricate details of nature through pencil under-drawings, dry brush watercolor techniques and color mixing. Spend the day at Cheekwood touring the gardens and learning botanical watercolor techniques.

Great Futures Gala @ Omni Nashville

We are thrilled to announce Shaquille O’Neal as the celebrity entertainer for the 2017 Great Futures Gala!

As our largest fundraiser, the Great Futures Gala supports the 4,000 kids we serve annually.

The Great Futures Gala is an evening of Hollywood glamour, fine dining, and an auction experience. Our Gala features a live and silent auction of more than 200 items – from Nashville-made products to international trips. With over 500 notable guests, our Gala is truly a night to remember. Special guests have included: Martin Short, Rob Lowe, Dylan McDermott, Martin Sheen, and Dick Vitale.

Proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Middle Tennessee.

Goodlettsville Heritage Days @ Moss-Wright Park

EventPhotoFull_Heritage DaysHistoric Mansker’s Station invites the public to attend its annual Heritage Days event.  This event allows people to see it, touch it, and feel it.  From farm animals to pottery, there is something for everyone.  The kids like learning how to use a compass and learning to write with a quill pen, the adults love interacting with interpreters and gardeners, and touring the Bowen House.  You truly can experience life on the frontier and on a plantation, all in one place at Heritage Days!

This event takes place on April 7 and 8, 2017 at Historic Mansker’s Station in Moss-Wright Park.  Over 20 demonstrators will be on site conducting hands on activities.  The event opens at 9am and ends at 3pm.  Friday morning is reserved for school groups.  The general public may attend Friday afternoon and all day Saturday.
